On October 9, Plymouth Rock employees, along with friends and family, will participate in the JDRF One Walk in Avon-By-The-Sea, New Jersey, for the 19th time since 1998. The walk raises awareness of Type 1 diabetes and money for research.

Last year, more than 200 people walked on the Plymouth Rock team. To date we’ve helped to raise about $500,000 for JDRF. That money is used to fund important research so a cure may eventually be found for Type 1 diabetes. This disease strikes children and adults suddenly. People with the disease cannot produce insulin – a hormone that helps turn food into energy.

The JDRF One Walk is just one way that Plymouth Rock gives back to New Jersey communities. Each year dozens of nonprofit groups benefit from employee donations matched by the Plymouth Rock Foundation and Plymouth Rock’s Teachers’ Insurance Plan of NJ has given funding support to schools and school districts in New Jersey since March 2007.

  1. We are a New Jersey Agent of Plymouth Rock. Maryann Herbst is one of the best company underwriters I work with. My son was diagnosed with Type1 diabetes at age 14. My opinion of this company just got even better!
