Boston Volunteer Day at Boys and Girls Club

On March 27, employees from our Boston office had the pleasure of volunteering at the Edgerley Family South Boston Boys and Girls Club. Together with the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, CBS and EcoMedia, we held a “Healthy Choices, Healthy Children Clinic” at the club with more than 150 kids. From the minute we walked in, the kids were so excited for their action-packed afternoon and were very curious about what each activity station would entail. They were especially excited to see Otto, our mascot, and as usual, he quickly stole the show, even breaking out some new dance moves for the kids. For the next hour, we were divided up into four stations and led the kids through different games like ultimate basketball, crab soccer, dodgeball and volleyball. Not only did the kids have a healthy day full of activity, they also worked together as teams, shared the ball and passed to their teammates, and celebrated each other’s wins.

The day ended with a healthy boxed dinner and lots of smiles. In addition to the time we spent volunteering, we made a financial donation to help fund the Healthy Choices, Healthy Children program at two Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, the Condon Club and the Edgerley Family South Boston Club. Funding will impact approximately 335 youth, providing footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, and other recreational & sporting equipment. As a company, we are proud to support our local communities through volunteer efforts and supplemental contributions. It’s even more rewarding when it involves positively impacting young kids by giving them the tools and resources they need to thrive. We hope the kids got as much out of it as we did and look forward to working with the Boys and Girls Clubs in the future!
